Psalm 9
1 I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.
2 I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High
3 When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence.
4 For thou has maintained my right and my cause; thou sattest in the throne judging right.
5 thou has rebuked the heathen, thou hast destroyed the wicked, thou hast put out their name for ever and ever.
6 O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them.
7 But the Lord shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.
8 And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.
9 The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble
10 And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.
11 Sing praises to the Lord, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.
12 When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the humble.
13 Have mercy upon me O Lord; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death:
14 That I may shew forth all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in thy salvation.
15 The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.
16 The Lord is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Selah
17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.
18 For the needy shall not alway be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever.
19 Arise, O Lord; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight.
20 Put them in fear, O Lord: that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah.

One thing I notice about a lot of the psalms is that a chapter might have a good blend of praises, as well as mention of the bad stuff that is going on. David had enough enemies I guess, and some of them were definitely after them. But David trusted God through all of it. Here and there between stuff mentioned about his enemies, David offers his praise to God. I just love this. We all face trials in life. It can really stink at times. Sometimes it seems the enemy is all around us. But God is right there with us, and He is taking care of all that stuff for us. "he forgetteth not the cry of the humble". Are you humble before the Lord? I am not always. I believe God is a bit more receptive when we are humble before Him. I mean, if we come to Him all full of ourselves, what do we need him for anyway... But when we come before him humbly... I mean, why shouldn't we be humble? Who are we without Him?
Anyway, God hears us and He does not forget us. I'm going through some really tough times myself right now, and through it all, God is still right here with me. It is really hard for me to trust sometimes, but He is taking care of all that other stuff for me. I just need to put it in hands.
And, there's a song what goes "I will praise you in this storm...." Just look at all the mention of enemies here in this passage, never mind the rest of the psalms. And through it all David still praised God. Should we not as well?
God doesn't want to just hear our crying for help. We need to have a complete relationship with Him at all times, even when things get tough.

Praise you Father. Thank you for hearing me in my times of trouble. Even though the enemy has me surrounded at times, I know you hear my cries and you're right here taking care of things for me. I will praise you in this storm Lord. For I know you will use this storm for your Glory... Thank you for all the great work you are doing in my life.
Amen.
