Prayer Request

Post by Nicki »

Please pray for my husband; he has been sick since last Tuesday with something like bronchitis. He went to the doctor, but he didn't give him any medicine and told him to come back if he got worse  Well, he didn't get worse until the weekend and then all the doctors offices were closed and today he is trying to find a doctor office, but most of them are still closed for New Year. He has to work the next 2 days 8am to 9pm so he really needs to get better!! Thanks for your prayers!!

Praying.
most illnesses I've had, I ended up letting them take their course. Back in 1998 or 99 I was sick for a while. Went to the doctor... he looked at me for about 5 seconds, told me I had an "upper respiratory infection" and sent me home with an antibiotic. I finished off the antibiotic and was still sick. Eventually it went away.
The other year I had a cough so bad, I'm pretty sure I cracked a couple ribs. I was in a LOT of pain. I think that was the first time in my life that I tried some nyquil. It helped me sleep some.
Honey is good for you. Straight honey by the teaspoon is supposed to help coughs more than cough syrup. I also like to drink herbal tea with honey in it when I'm not feeling well.
Anyway... I hope he starts feeling well really soon.

Thank you :) He was able to get some antibiotics yesterday and a steroid shot so he feels a little bit better. Turns out he has bronchitis. He has alot of trouble with his sinuses so anytime he gets sick, it usually turns into a full blown sinus infection (he had to have sinus surgery years back) He has been drinking lots of herbal tea the last several days and it seems to help a little.

Glad he's feeling better.
If he has problems with his sinuses often, he may want to look into a neti pot. I never heard of them before this past year. My wife got one as she was having some issues. She says it works well.
I just looked it up on wikipedia...

I'd read the entire article if you use that or think about it. Some info there that I wasn't aware of.

He uses one almost everyday...it usually keeps him pretty clear, but he's also allergic to gluten (wheat) and chicken so if he eats any food that has those in it, that throws him in a sinus infection sometimes too :(

Yikes. That doesn't sound fun at all. I sure hope things improve for him.
