Link Exchange

Post by millipede »

Hmm, I thought I had posted about this... But I see I only posted mentioning I would make a link page.
Well... it's been there for quite a while now. It's a link exchange
Check it out... the link is up there at the top of the page.
You'll notice it has a "sponsored links" section. This is for sites that I might have some sort of affiliate program going with them. That just means if you purchase something there using that link, I might just get a commission which would help keep the site running :D

Below that, I only have a few links so far. There's information there explaining it all. IF you'd like to place a link to Backyard Fellowship on your website, provided the content is okay with us we will link back to you.
Linking to each other helps in two ways.
1. Search engines will see a link to your site on other sites and it helps give you a better page rank. That must means the more sites point to yours the higher up on the results your page will be.
2. People visiting this site may just stumble upon yours if you have a link here. (and vice versa :D )
So it helps everyone.

Let me know if you want to exchange links.

I would be more than happy to do a link exchange with out. I run a website about Backyard Chickens which you probably already know and offer a similar system, though I usually link without link back lol. I have a useful links section and would be more than happy to link here.

Also I have an excellent spam prevention modification that checks spambot registrations (im not sure about guest posting). It checks to see if the user registering has been reported to stopforumspam.com, it checks username, email and IP address, if they were reported, they are blocked. See http://majax.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3&p=3 it will install with PHPBB AutoMod, the automatic Modification installer so you dont need to do any file edits, ever again :P ... if you ever use it though, when i suggest a mod to anyone, be sure to backup before proceeding. I use it on my board last 5 days, 0 spam bots :D

Sure, I'd appreciate that. I can link to your site. I'll also make sure your website is listed in your profile. That way people can see the little icon and click to go there. You're also welcome to put something in your signature(provided it isn't a HUGE banner or anything that takes up too much room.)

By the way... on your site I saw "link to us on your site" which directs to the following page.
http://chickentalk.org/linktous.php
I got a Not Found page.

At the moment, I'm not terribly worried about the spam. It's just a few here and there and only piles up when I ignore it for a few days... and 95% of it is because I have guest posting allowed in the guestbook section. Something I will eventually change. I'll keep it in mind though.
