Is there an echo in here?

I'm sure you have interest in things besides the outdoors...

Is there an echo in here?

Post by millipede »

Well, I don't think anyone noticed but the site was down for a few days. The hosting service we use had an issue that caused EVERY site they host to be down.
Now I have still have to figure out a way to get people interested in this site... and I'm just not sure how that can be done.

I wish these things were easier for me.
Any thoughts on the color scheme? When I started getting things going again, I changed it. I like it better than the default but I'm not quite sure it's exactly what I want yet. I'm not sure if that would actually help get people to stick around longer or not. I NEED to find a way to get people to do more than just look once in a while. Have to drive more traffic here, somehow.

While I'm trying to figure that out, I'm also working on a few other things. I really want to be able to make a little cash online somehow... Hopefully the ads here will be useful, some day. It will take more people visiting daily for it to ever amount to anything at all. As it is, in last month or two it says the site has earned about six cents. Google doesn't do a payout until you reach 100 dollars so, I'll be waiting a LONG time on that.

So, I'm working on youtube stuff as well. The downside there is that google changed their policy so that you cannot use ads until your channel has 1,000 subscribers. That will take quite a while I'm afraid.
So I'm working on three channels so far. One will be my personal channel that, for now, I hope to just put music on there. Not sure anyone will subscribe to me singing on youtube but it's worth a shot. Then there's BYF's youtube channel that will have nature videos. I need to find a way to improve those so that people will view, share, and want to come back for more. I haven't figured that out yet. And then there's my children's channel called Chicken Mushroom Studios. Right now they have videos they're making using a cell phone, and legos. I have to start working harder on getting their videos online. We're working on an intro among other things. We have plans to add a couple more playlists to that channel that might include a puppet show with my 4 year old and some drawing videos with yr 15 year old. I'm hoping that with a few different options, they'll get some subscribers. We will see. They have dreams of making a few dollars online as well. :)

So, I feel like I'm talking to myself. this is how I often feel on facebook which is part of why nobody is here I believe. I'm not sure how to change all that. I'm hoping it can be changed. I'm also hoping I can get a couple people to help me... people that would be interested in participating in conversations on here and maybe even sharing stuff at facebook to try and draw more people here.

if there's an echo and nobody is around to hear it... is there really an echo?

There are days I want to cry... days I want to quit... but, I like this site too much. But nobody else seems to.
I wonder what it would take to have a forum that people actually want to participate in. :(
Is it the content? Design? Or is it just me that nobody wants to socialize with? I'm just not sure. :(
