an impulse buy

I was at the auction today... really looking for call ducks or something interesting. Well, someone had a little pet carrier with a couple of lambs in there. Bottle lambs
The were asking for a first bid of $12.50... nobody was bidding yet... I couldn't resist... I raised my hand. Nobody bid after that. So, I have a lamb that needs lots of attention, and I have no idea what I'm doing with it.
Anyway, I bought a book and plan on doing lots of reading about it. I'm also asking people on instant Messenger that know about them.
Anyway... it's really cute, both in appearance and personality.

He is adorable!!! Makes me want a lamb now LOL...really, I'd rather have a goat because they don't need to be sheared lol

yeah, SHE is cute. We put a harness on her and took her for a walk today. That was fun.

it was kind of funny. I bought one of those harness things you'd put on a dog... I didn't know what size to get, so I got one for a medium sized dog. I made it pretty much as tight as it goes, and it's still a little loose. Oh well, she'll grow into it.
I probably didn't even need it, she'll follow us wherever we go anyway.

At the moment I'm leaning towards keeping her for a few weeks and then finding her a new home. We love her to death, but I keep thinking about all the diseases most people treat or vaccinate for, and the space she'll need when she's bigger... and the food... now matter what I do for food it's going to take money. Even if I grow pasture, which is what I would do if I kept her, it would take a lot of work and money to get it good enough for her.
She's so cute it will be hard to part with, but I think it will be best if we do. We'll just keep her for a few weeks just for fun and then find someone that we know can take care of her well.

Well, I do believe I'm selling Lucy today. Only one problem... I have two interested buyers that might BOTH be at the auction today.
I posted on my homeschool group's website... this one lady responded, but was using the wrong address so I never got it. Then, I was talking to blue from the pya, she's up in Kansas... she said they'd buy her, and they were thinking of going to the auction today.
ahhh...
I'll have to have a talk with whoever gets there first or something. I'm not sure how it will go yet. We'll see.
At any rate, she may be gone today.
I'll try to get a few more pictures. My kids will be so sad. Even my wife is a bit sad... but, it's for the best.

 It's hard to do the right thing sometimes...I would love to see more pictures of her though. I hope everything turns out ok with both of the people wanting her

She's gone to live with blue now... they already have two other lambs, so it should be nice for her there.

They tried to put her in with the other lambs, but she squeezed through the cattle panels and followed them around the yard
