Chick pics

Postby Nicki » Tue Apr 15, 2008 6:05 pm

Ok, here's pictures I took today of my Nankin chicks. Most of them were hatched on St. Patrick's Day so they're almost a month old now.

Here's a little cockerel...I can't tell on alot of them, but he's pretty obvious LOL

Someone else on the pya suggested the same thing. But, are you getting them confused with turkens?
I don't know my breeds at all, but all the pictures of nankins on feathersite, they all have feathers on their necks.

They're cute.

Yeah, you're thinking of Naked Necks, or turkens; these are Nankins. Alot of people get them confused actually. I've posted ads in the paper selling them before and people have called wanting Naked Necks. Here's links to both breeds...they are totally different. Nankins are pretty rare so you may never have heard of them before.

Thanks. I love Nankins; they are really pretty but they are also the BEST pets!! They just love people! When I open their pen, they'll fly up on my arm (or head LOL), and they follow me around the yard too.

I'm sorry, but chickens feet and feathers are not clean enough for me to tolerate them on my head.
Just think of where their feet have been :o
