Hey Millipede
I am noticing that you are the only one replying to this thred. Am I on a private thread with you? or is it open to the other members here too.
I kind of wanted to get to know other people too. You know the hobbies and family life and kids and grandkids stuff too. No offense to you. I am getting to know you too and that is good. but how do I get to know stuff from the other members too.
I am still not very good with a computer but I guess I am getting a little bettr each time i am on it. I still have trouble finding my way around the web site. like the top row that says home, portal board index..... sometimes I click them and kind of get lost.
I get a little aprehensive because this is my husbands computer and I don't want to mess it up with viruses and stuff. And I like looking up recipes and stuff too.
you said you have 4 kids! WOW! Areyou divorced? Is that why they live in South Carolina or are they just visiting someone? sorry, my husband says I ask to many questions. Wow. 4 kids huh? sometimes I wish I had a sister. it would be nice to have someone to talk with or visit with. Are the kids teenagers or younger/older? Sorry, there I go with the questions again. No wonder my husband gets upset with me sometimes.

well the sun is shining sweetly today. No gray day. I can almost feel my joy level rising . Cold Gray days make me feel I am in a prison. I can't wait to be able to start my vegatable garden. It;s usually small but it gives me something to look forward to.

well, I have banana bread to make.

I wish I had more people actively participating in the forum. This topic is in plain view for everyone, we just don't get a ton of people participating these days. Somehow I need to find a way to get more people in here...

My wife packed up and left... it's a long story. She wants to work things out, but she's making it really tough for me. Again, a real long story...
Yep... 4 kids. ages are 7(almost 8), 5, 2(almost 3), and 4 months... I sure miss them all a lot...

Spring isn't very far away... :D

one of the links at the top of the page says "board index". That is the main page of the forum that shows all the sections there are to the forum. From there, you pick whichever section of the forum seems like the best place to post whatever it is you might want to talk about. You click on that section and you will go there and you'll see a list of other topics that are in that section. On that page, where you can see all those topics, there is a button near the top that says "new topic". Click on that and you can start a new topic.
It will get easier to figure your way around the more you check things out. :D

Yeah, we got a lot of ice. Lots of branches and trees down. I was without power for about 5 days. Everything in my house is electric so I had no heat or water. After the first night, I ended up going over my friend's house for a while. The ice was really pretty, but also a big inconvenience for a lot of people.

glad everything is ok millipede
I chuckled when you said no head or water. were you in the navy? I thought only navy folks called the toilet the head.
Oh, I am sorry. I didn't mean to laugh at you. I mean it just sounded funny when i read it. I wouldn't want to have no toilet facilities. Would be pretty uncomfortable.

are you anywhere near little rock arkansas? last year my husband said he wanted to visit a cousin ther. At least I think it was little rock. Anyway it was Arkansas. I never met his cousin and I never have been to little rock. maybe if we go through there we could meet in some public place. I mean me and my husband and you and your family when they come back from North Carolina. Of course yhat is only if he decides to see his cousin. He hasn't said anything lately about going.
I haven't even started job hunting yet. I don't think my husband remembers telling me to find a job. He was drinking that night and had a few 'smokes' with his friends. I don't think i will remind him. He won't let me drive his truck and I wouldn't be able to get to a job anyway. besides it will time to start my garden soon.

oops... that was a typo... it was supposed to say heat, not head.
of course... no water also means the bathroom isn't functional either...

I'm in the Northwestern part of Arkansas... Little Rock is near the middle somewhere. Several hours away anyway... I've only been through that area once....

would you be willing to meet together if we come to arkansas?
I would love to meet you and anyone else who lives in the area. that is, if we do get to go there. Sometimes hubby is not too good at meeting new people. i guess it depends on the day and if he is drinking. Usually, if we are traveling he doesn't drink much until we get to our destination. of course, we don't travel much. he says he gets to feeling caged when he meets new people. like he wants to hit someone instead of getting to meet them. Don't worry, he doesn't actually hit strangers. just gets antsy)
that is why he has a hard time at work. can't seem to keep a job. he says his whole body gets "nervous" feeling when a boss tells him to do something.
Maybe he is feeling better about things. He hasn't hit the dog in a long time or pulled my arms or hair. last time my wrist got slightly sprained. It's the last time i will try to serve lima beans. I didn't know he didn't like them.
the weather is gettig cold again. I was sure hoping for spring. If i can start the tiller I will try to ready the garden for planting. I just love the smell of fresh turned soil.
well it's time for bed

hi Millipede
sorry I haven't been by much. there is a lot of comotion around here.
I probably won;t be coming by anymore. My husband has been downright mean lately and now he's talking about maybe divorce. I just don't know what to say or do. I guess I am going to have to get a job after all and learn to take care of myself.
I don't know what to do. or where to go.
So I probably won't have access to a computer.
we'll see what he says once he sobers up. MAybe he won't remember he said it. sometimes that happens. I will just have to wait and be patient. Oh I wish spring would come! Some pretty blooms would make me feel better.

dear milli
i still don't know if I will be returning here. it is a day to day thing.
But I do have a request and i will try to return when I can.
Is it possible to to do a devotion on honesty? Especially honesty when it concerns a husband and wife.
I hate to admit it that I am not happy about the dishonesty of my husband in our marriage. I know you are not a marriage psychiatrist or anything ,but well, I am afrais to make things worse by suggesting a councellor session. but I can't see myself hanging in much longer.
maybe a devotional would help clear things a little for me. I really don't have any friends to talk to about this. if I use the phone he can check who I talk to. I don't want to make things worse.

I want to help you any way I can Katie... but I have to be very careful with what I say and all... these kinds of situations can be tricky sometimes.
I'm working on getting a friend to join the forum that would be able to give you better advice than I can.
Even if I could come up with some stuff on honesty... how do you present it to him? That's a tricky one if you ask me. There's a verse in the bible that tells us not to swear by anything... and that's not the kind of swearing that causes beep sounds on tv... I'm talking about swearing that you've never done anything, or however you might use that phrase... "I swear, the fish was this big". The bible says not to swear... simply let your yes be yes and your no, no. Anything else comes from the evil one. Basically, always tell the truth...
If your husband isn't honest, and he is the angry type, I do not suggest that you preach such a message at him.

as for the counseling... A few thoughts... first though, if you ever feel your life is in danger, get out. There are people that can help you do that if it is necessary.
If counseling is something you want to try, that too could be a tricky situation. He may be very much against it. If there are ever times when he is easy to talk to, that would be the time that I would try to talk to him about such a thing.

I'm going to try to get someone else here to help respond to your questions. For now, hang in there. We're praying for you. Keep yourself safe.
