Postby Nicki » Wed Jan 11, 2012 9:10 am

Well, what's new for me in 2012 is that my husband and I are buying our first house!!! We're really excited and we're hoping to close this week or next :D

That is awesome. It's an amazing feeling to get your own place and not be paying rent. Congratulations.

Thanks :) We just got married 4 months ago (Sept. 3) and we've been staying with his parents the whole time. We're super excited about getting our own place!

I guess you deserve another congratulations then.

Any plans for the new place? Gardening? that sort of thing?

LOL not really sure yet. It's on 1.25 acres and has trees at the back so it's really pretty. Not sure if we'll have a garden or not; first off we'll be working on the inside of the house (painting, etc.)

1.25 acres isn't bad. I hope you'll make good use of it... a garden, some fruit trees, some chickens, etc.......
Got any pictures of the place?

Yeah, I like that it's kinda "tucked in" with the trees :) Past the trees is this HUGE field (the neighbor has a really big place) so we'll probably get lots of deer coming up in our back yard :)

Oh that would be nice. We get deer pretty close to our house sometimes and we just love seeing them. Try to keep a camera nearby at all times. :)
I'm hoping to some day buy a game camera... something to tie to a tree or somewhere. I know I'd get to see more than I do now. I know that turkeys, bobcats, coyotes, and more pass through my yard... I just don't get to see them most of the time.
