Im not very smart on the subject of butterflys but i always had one question i wanted to ask about them,What do they eat? can anyone here answer that question?

Nectar, right Millipede? I guess all butterflies drink nectar but there must be some strange exception. :) And the caterpillars like to eat everything it seems like. :roll:

but there must be some strange exception.


but of course... There is a butterfly that will occasionally drink blood, I believe from dead animals. It was on a PBS special called "bloody suckers"... great show.

Did you know, butterflies taste with their feet?

Drink blood? now thats a strange exception! there taste buds must be worn down to nothing! but than again the fly more often than they walk. Did you know,that a fly gets sick on its food before it eats it?

Sorry that was pretty bad... But you know I never knew flies got sick on their food before they ate it... Hmmmm.... I learn something new every day around here! ;)

this is so going off topic... but since flies were mentioned... if you ever watch one standing still... and you see its front legs moving, it could be regurgitating... if you see its hind legs moving, it is doing something else :o
