Looking for God's will in your life?
Many people are constantly seeking out God's will. The biggest problem is that many are seeking out to find out their futures. What does God want you to do with your life? What kind of job does God want you to have? Who does God want you to marry? The list goes on.
I can't speak on God's behalf here... but, there are many things in life that may not be revealed to us while we are living here. That's just how it is.
But, aren't we supposed to seek out God's will?
Sure. But there is SO much more to God's will then what our future holds.
How about present day? What does God want you to do with your life today?
The truth is, not many people worry about today as much as they do tomorrow.
I can promise you, if you're always looking ahead and never focused on RIGHT NOW, you will not find God's will. What do I mean?
Well... let's look at some scripture.

Romans 12:1,2
1 I BESEECH you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Ephesians 5:15-20
15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

There's a few websites below that go into all this in a little more depth, and are worth reading...
There is a lot to God's will. As I was saying before, many people are so worried about their futures and what God's plans are that they lose sight of God's will for them NOW. Romans 12:2 above says that we are to make sure we are not conformed to this world. But look at us. When we conform to this world and we do the things they do and think the things they do, we are living outside of God's will already.
The most important thing I can say today is that God's will is spelled out nice and clearly for us in His written word. If you want to live according to God's will, live according to His word. It is that simple. I don't think you'll have any trouble being right where God wants you to be if you follow what He has spelled out for you in His word.
But, what about the future? What about my job, spouse, and all that other stuff?
Well... First thing you need to do is relax a little and TRUST that God has that all under control.
Is it okay to seek out God's will for those things? Is it okay to worry about marrying the right person or whether I should be a missionary or pump gas for a living?
Sure it is. It is okay as long as you are living up to His written will for you. I promise you, if you are living in sin and outside of His will already, your search for what God wants you to do with your life will be extremely clouded.
The only way to be sure about what god wants you to do with the rest of your life is to be sure of where you stand with what already is certain. God's will as written in the bible. Turn from evil and do not be conformed to this world... Seek His will for your life daily, but always "seek ye first the kingdom of God..." Seek out the obvious first. Are you living right according to his word. After you find that, the rest should be a lot easier and less burdensome.

Lord God, I pray with all my heart that I will continually seek out to live according to your will. I pray that I will stay strong in my faith and live according to your word. Help me to trust that you have a plan for me and that your will is perfect. I want to serve you Lord in a way that you have called me to... Help me to find that Lord.
Amen.
